“I did that climbing thing once or twice. Y’know, that thing with the hook and the pulley and stuff. Most of the time, I do all right. But this time, it totally sucked! You had to follow the forms of the metal plates and…it was complicated, let’s just leave it at that.” She ended up getting rescued. Totally embarrassing, even though the guy who rescued her was cute! “Is adventuring in real life, like, super complicated too?”

           ❛  THAT  THING  WITH  THE  HOOK  AND  THE  PULLEY.  ❜ Yes, oh, she remembered it, alright. “ ERR–– to say the least, yes. There’s a lot of sweat, tears and blood involved. The stakes are much higher, however. ” Curiosity piqued, she nodded, “ do you think you’ll do it again? ” 

People often wondered how her numerous near-death experiences hadn’t driven her off the beaten path, how she could continue –– perhaps, somewhat RECKLESSLY –– to dive headfirst into danger. The answer for her was PERSONAL, rooted in an infamous Croft hunger for knowledge, and an appetite for EXPLORATION. For others like her, it was… other things.
